Security through SMS Gateway – How Does it Work?

You’ll need a motion detection system capable of plugging into your computer. In some cases, depending on the system, emails can be sent as soon as the alarm is triggered. While the choice of motion detection system depends entirely on you, the Simple Mail Transfer Protocol(SMTP) application programming interface (API) provides the ideal SMS text message alert system – it uses normal email to send SMS text messages to either one or many recipients at once.

With that in mind, here’s what you need to make such a system a reality:

1. A motion detection system capable of sending emails when triggered
2. An SMTP API account for messaging through SMS gateways
3. An internet connection and a computer.

Once all that is in place, you just need to configure the email that is sent to be in the following format:

And that’s all there is to setting up an alert system that will send SMS text messages through SMS gateways to your phone when triggered. Other uses for such a system include:

• Alerts when someone is close to the pool (in case you have small children)
• …when someone walks into the office after 5PM
